Which Cedarbrook Group is Best for My Swimmer?

.

-The Seahawks-

The Cedarbrook Seahawks Swim Team consists of the Seahawks - also referred to as the "Big Team" - and the Kiddie Hawks - a developmental pre-team.

As an MCSL team, the Cedarbrook Seahawks swimmers are divided into age groups of 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18, ensuring that every athlete trains and competes with peers at a similar stage of development. Our team proudly welcomes swimmers of all abilities - from those just learning to race to elite-level swimmers competing in USA Swimming and NCAA programs..

We truly believe that our strength lies in our diversity, and we celebrate the unique journey of every swimmer! The camaraderie, encouragement, and joy shared among teammates create a vibrant, supportive environment that makes Cedarbrook more than just a team - it’s a family.

.

-The Kiddie Hawks-

The Kiddie Hawks Pre-Team is a cherished part of the Cedarbrook tradition, and we take great pride in helping our youngest swimmers grow into confident, capable athletes! With a higher coach-to-swimmer ratio, Kiddie Hawks receive plenty of one-on-one attention, allowing them to build strong fundamentals in a fun and supportive environment.

Watching our Kiddie Hawks improve, gain confidence, and fall in love with the sport is one of the most rewarding parts of our season. Kiddie Hawks also get to join in the fun of Cedarbrook life, from pep rallies and team movie nights to their very own Mini Meet and special awards ceremony at the end of the summer - making every moment memorable!

During tryouts, Kiddie Hawk swimmers are assessed by our coaches to determine their readiness for the program. Swimmers should be able to swim one length of the pool independently; those who aren't quite there yet will be encouraged to join Cedarbrook's swimming lessons program to continue building their skills. Once these swimmers are able to swim the full length of the pool confidently, they will be welcomed into the Kiddie Hawks. Some Kiddie Hawks even progress quickly enough to move up to the big team midway through the summer when they are ready!

.

Please note: for safety, Kiddie Hawks must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted
